About us
The Institute for Refractive and Ophthalmic Surgery (IROC) was founded in 2002 in Zurich. Within 15 years, the IROC-staff grew from 5 to a team of more than 25 people. In 2005, we moved to larger facility at the Stockerstrasse 37 in Zurich. Since 2009, IROC performs surgery in an external operating room at the Bärengasse near the Paradeplatz and in 2018 a low budget-eye laser center was established at the Bahnhofstrasse.
With many years of experience in eye surgery and intensive research activities, IROC is known nationally as well as internationally as a high-end reference center for all kind of anterior segment eye diseases. This is confirmed, among other things, by the ISO 9001-certification.
Not only does IROC perform several thousand surgeries annually in all subdisciplines of ophthalmology, it also conducts research and contributes to many of the latest technical developments in ophthalmology. This is reflected in many publications that appear every year in internationally recognized ophthalmological journals.
